Agriculture Science I

Power Standards

This course focuses on animal science, agricultural mechanics, career exploration, leadership and personal development, and supervised agricultural experience.  Units may include nutrition, woodworking, reproduction, and FFA knowledge.

I. All students will demonstrate and apply appropriate safety practices.

II. All students will demonstrate skills necessary to find and earn employment (resumes, cover letters, interviews, etc).

III. All students will consistently demonstrate professional soft skills necessary to keep employment (relations with others, work ethic, dependability, etc).

IV. All students will identify and apply basic FFA knowledge.

V. All students will recognize various livestock species and breeds within each species.

VI.  All students will identify animal breeding techniques and display reproductive knowledge.

VII. All students will analyze and apply knowledge in basic nutrition.

VIII.  All students will apply and use basic record keeping techniques.
