Building Trades

Building Trades can provide
students with the skills to continue on to college, apprenticeship program or work in the field. 
Students will be asked to
provide their own tool apron, hammer, square, carpenter's
pencil, and leather boots.




Building Trades I

Students will be trained in the use and care of tools and tool identification. Classroom training will be supplemented by actual on-site work experience in the many areas of construction. Students will be instructed in construction safety, pre-construction planning, site layout and preparation, foundation and basement work, rough framing, insulation, roofing and exterior and interior finishes.

Building Trades II

This course continues building on the skills learned in Building Trades I. Students will receive additional reinforcement of safety training, blueprint reading, electrical and plumbing rough-ins, exterior and interior finishing, mechanical trades, energy conservation, and pre-employment preparation.
